ARWANA SATU is a Lay Barge (LB) that was being design and purposed built for pipeline operations. Arwana Satu is a perfect choice for swamp estuary and shore approach work, but she nevertheless not limited to this application and is capable of laying pipes in deeper waters.

  Built to fulfill the needs of pipe laying operations

  Particularly for shallow water operations due to minimal working draft

  Capable to be grounded due to the strengthen hull  

Fitted with a 25 tonne tensioner and associated pipe handling equipment the barge is capable of laying pipes up to 52" O.D.

The 10 tonne per m2 deck loading can support a crawler crane of up to 250 tonne capacity.

The barge hull is also reinforced to allow grounding (subject to seabed conditions) at low tide. Dependent on equipment (crane, etc) deployed on deck and amount of pipe, fuel, ballast and cargo stored; the barge can operate in pipelay mode in 1.4 m - 1.8 m of water.

The configuration makes the LB ARWANA SATU a perfect choice for swamp, estuary and shore approach work. Nevertheless not limited to this application and is capable of laying pipe in deeper waters.
