What We Offer |
|
Pigging After Construction |
Pigs are used after construction to remove debris left in the line when it was assembled; for removing stubborn debris, such as millscale and weld bead slag from the pipe wall; initial gauging to determine there are no obstructions and ensure that the ovality is within acceptable limits; and geometry or caliper pigging for measuring and recording any obstructions.
|
|
This is a brief sequence of pigging after construction of a pipeline:
|
|
- Debris Removal
(Clear Construction Debris)
- Gauging
(
Detect dents & buckles)
- Cleaning
(Remove rust, dirt & mill scale, add corrosion inhibitor)
- Flooding
(Flood prior to hydrotest)
- Hydrotest
(Test the pipeline integrity)
- Dewatering
(Displace water with air, N2, chemical and product)
- Air/Vacuum Drying
(Drying the pipeline)
- Line Packing/Nitrogen Packing
(Preserving the pipeline using N2)
|
Pigging During Operations |
|
During pipeline operation, pigging is require in case of:
|
|
- To separate products
( Multi products lines, dewatering)
- Improving flow efficiency
(Removal of sand and wax from oil lines, clearance of dirt
and condensate from gas line)
- Corrosion inhibitor
( Batching with inhibitor, water drop-out removal)
- Meter proving
(Calibration of Flowmeter)
